Mere seconds before drowning...

The reality of human’s weakness and frailty has been painfully revealed to me lately. What is the use in seeing a glimpse of truth with overwhelming clarity if one is mere seconds from letting water fill their lungs and succumb to drowning? Is it possible that in the brief moment before the blackness takes over that one can see enough for a second chance? Is it possible for the weary heart on the brink of giving up because it learned too little too late to gain a burst of energy to fight one last time? To kick for the long-forgotten surface simply because the world has been revealed for what it truly is – revolting revelations and ugliness. The burst of energy reveals one’s resolve to fight one last time, simply because the small piece of truth is worth living for. Maybe one can recover from a tragedy and live more truly than ever before. Maybe one is shown the pure, unadulterated truth at that last moment before death because…

God believes that a heart barely beating is still capable of beating with purpose for Him.

The weak and downtrodden can reach the surface for a breath of air and live for the only God worth living for. Truth is not meant to be a last plaguing reminder of the “shoulda/coulda/woulda.” It is revealed because somewhere amidst the passionless, messy, and broken individual lies a desire to follow through to the end and never waver. God chooses us, the feeble and forgotten, to carry His banner and bring glory to His name.

1 Corinthians 1:27 – “But God chose the weak things…”
