Silence.
I have become irrevocably aware of the power and beauty of silence. You don’t realize what silence sounds like until you can hear it in the air. It swathes your senses, begging to be touched, tasted, and remembered. It’s the kind of silence that rolls back through an empty room and catches you in the face after the realization of loneliness has struck. It’s the kind of silence that lethally wrenches away at a person after a cutting remark has been uttered and nobody dares to break the spell. It’s the kind of silence that allows hopes and dreams to swirl around and about, unannounced and uninterrupted. It’s the kind of silence that accompanies a commanding landscape and slaps your hyped emotions back in their boots.
It’s the kind of silence that resounds with peace and whispers into your thoughts…
Be still and know that I am God.
